live and blog your style
I wish I was there right now.
Or here.
Instead I’m hiding from the freezing rain and bundling up with layers in my apartment. But a big smile crept onto my face when I received a notice from two different bloggers about a charming award going around the blogosphere.

READ:
Remember all those Forwards you would get when email was first really hitting it big? I’m talking all of those “Send to everyone on your Buddy List or you will never be happy again.” Then there were the ones “Scroll down and make a wish as you stare at the asterisk stars.”
You know what I’m talking about.
I never forwarded any of those.
I’m happy to report I’m still alive and well, or at least well enough that has nothing to do with not forwarding those emails.
Don’t consider this one of those emails. If you don’t “forward” this, I firmly believe no voodoo internet magic will distort your reality. You’re safe. Make yourself a Rice Krispie treat and relax. This is purely just for fun and for giving some great blogs a much deserved shout-out.
___________
Recently Kristisn from Eat Drink Love and Exercise and the lovely author of Baking n’ Books nominated me for the Stylish Blogger Award.
Here is how the Award works:
1. Make a post + Link back to the person who awarded you this award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers so we can share the love.
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them they’ve won.

For those of you still reading (you deserve some Nutella just for that!), here are:
Seven Random Facts about me that you never knew you wanted to know.
1. You may know I’m a bit obsessed with Jo March. What you didn’t know is that my older sister and I made all these clippings pretending we had our own newspaper just like the March girls. We also put on plays and had a mailbox just like the one Teddy gives the girls.
2. I have two brothers and two sisters. I’m the favorite child. Mom told me.
Sure, we may have gotten a quick smack from a wooden spoon here and there, but I think my family is pretty great. (Don’t quote me on that, especially when it comes to sibling duels.)
(Dad took the picture. We love him, too.)
3. Mario Kart is probably my favorite video game. I like to think that the skills I acquire from playing it every once in a while will correlate to some “intelligent” skill I can put on my resume. (i.e. activated over X number of covert levels due to pure greatness)
4. I had lunch with Ari Fleischer. We had pizza. It was pretty awesome.
5. I’ve been gluten-free now since September 2009 when I eliminated gluten out of my diet overnight. For over 6 years I suffered from an intolerance but the (many!) doctors gave me no solution or diagnosis for my countless ailments. Mother knows best = true story.
6. I still want to be Princess Gwenevere from Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders. She had a talking pegasus for her best friend. Do I even need to explain that? Please tell me I’m not the only one who watched this show or else I’ll pity you all to no end.
7. I worked out with the Celtics. Alright, so we didn’t actually workout “together together” but we were in the same two-by-four gym and I said “hey” to Shaq. I was on the elliptical, gaining at least a foot in height, or else he would never have seen me way down there.

Here are some great bloggers whose blogs I’ve come to frequent. They may not be “new” but they keep me coming back for more. I also like to think I’m BFFs with some of them, even if we can’t run together, eat Nutella on the same couch, or dish about our lives in person…just yet. Thanks, ladies!

What is a random fact about yourself? Heck, what are seven?
Awww thanks for the award! Random about me: I can touch my tongue to my nose, I can do a headstands and cartwheels on a whim, and I hate lemon. Ta da!
Aw, thanks for thinking of me to pass this on to, girl! I have the hardest time thinking up random facts about myself – but I LOVE reading everyone else’s. It’s so fun to learn more about the “person behind the blog,” I think 🙂
Stay cozy under layers and the safe walls of your apartment today! Sometimes rainy days are just so comforting, even if the weather does suck 😛
THANK YOU, My Friend! 🙂 I love getting to know my blog friends better through these Q&A lists!
random about me?
It took me 7 years to graduate from college… I went to art school first, then took a break in the middle to play and teach USTA level tennis… I wanted to go pro. 🙂
the bulk of my career thus far has been in spa development and management, but now I am considering returning to school for a baking/pastry diploma… I would love to open a bakery!
I met Shaq too. He took a course at a college in my city (Syracuse University) and stopped by where I work to get his car washed. Yup, I work at a car wash. Anyway, he pulled into my lane to get his Range Rover wiped off. I was pretty excited when he pressed a magical little button that lowered the car so I could reach the hood, but later dubbed him as cheap considering the fact that he didn’t tip me…and…you know, that’s how we get paid at my job. Oh well, maybe he didn’t realize. Still, I got to touch his car.
Mario Kart is an EXCELLENT game but I have to give it to super smash brothers brawl.
SSBB is pretty awesome, too…not gonna lie.
I always love reading these … it’s so fun to learn a bit more about everyone!
Do you have a post on #4? What a cool story to tell! 🙂
Good idea for a post!
Wow working out the the Cletics is pretty impressive 🙂
Random about me??? Hmmm I am a dietitian and the thought of lettuce grosses me out!
Thanks again for this!! I’m honored. 🙂
I loved reading your 7 facts. I’m one of 4 too. Keeps things interesting, I think. 🙂
Random fact: I hate onions, pickles, and olives. Can’t even stand the smell of them. And my sisters and I would put on dance shows and plays for my parents on “special” occasions. We were convinced they couldn’t ask for anything better to celebrate their birthday (or mother’s day, father’s day…you name it).
My siblings and I thought we were pretty great, too. Now I’m convinced I’m better (kidding!), but I don’t tell them that. “Homemade” plays…what more could our parents possibly WANT?!?
Dude I just posted the same thing and tagged you. Whoops. Consider it a… “second” to your first tag! It also means you have to post seven NEW facts all over again. Just kidding. Have a great day! http://pancakesandpostcards.com/2011/01/stylish-blogging-on-africa-time/
Too funny! I think great minds just think alike 🙂
those trees are unreal! so tall and lush (are they trees or bushes? I’m garden-challenged)
Many thanks!!
Random fact: My real name is Amy Beth. I’ve gone by Beth since the day I was born :).

Random fact: I have two different coloured sets of eyelashes. One set is blonde, one is dark brown. A combo of my mom and dad I guess!
So exciting! I will have to make my list of random things soon! You know how I feel about Jo March. I LOVE that you had the mailbox – hah!
Ha! Love it! The photos are beautiful!
